Artistic practice

Sammy Does posits the body as a site of phantasmagoric morphology. The body forever in a state of flux — dissolving, reconfiguring, and taking (renewed) shape — and its influence on subjectivity and personhood. Her work distinctly embraces elements of fantasy and play while incorporating her embodied experience as a bi-cultural trans person. Recurring notions include fluidity, material affect, aesthetics, commodification, erotics, and gender.
In her execution, Sammy fuses technical potential with anatomical reality and reimagines digital apparitions in IRL landscapes (or vice versa). Artistic output ranges from 3D printed nails to installation design and robotic sculptures. Sammy Does is a recipient of the Creative Industry Talent Development Grant (2024—2025) and is included in a forthcoming exhibition (2027) by Design Museum Den Bosch (NL).
